OPTION 1A: Free Home Energy Assessment - Performed by Energy Auditor
For a free Home Energy Assessment, visit their website or call 1-866-527-7283 to schedule an appt. An auditor from Mass Save will be assigned to you, visit your home, and assess your weatherization needs. He will make recommendations based on the results of your audit and guide you through the program.
Audit includes:
- Visual inspection of your home, including building envelope, heating/cooling systems, appliances and lighting
- Replacement of light bulbs with CFL’s (energy-efficient compact fluorescent lights), installation of programmable thermostats, etc.
- Analysis of current utility bills
- Participation in Mass Save program; access to rebates and incentives for upgrades
- The auditor works for the Mass Save program and will perform the audit
- If you choose to make weatherization upgrades, you may select your own insulation contractor from the list or the auditor can select one for you

OPTION 1B: Free Home Energy Assessment -Performed by a Home Performance Contractor
For a free Home Energy Assessment, visit their website or call 1-866-527-7283 to schedule an appt. Select a Home Performance Contractor (HPC) from the list
Audit includes:
- Services included in OPTION 1A.
- The contractor will perform the evaluation AND implement any chosen upgrades (as indicated by the results of your audit, such as air sealing, insulation, etc.)
- This type of auditor is known as an HPC (Home Performance Contractor.) He is recognized and monitored by the Mass Save program and able to access rebates and incentives.
- An HPC is essentially a “one-stop shop”.
